Navy awards $30M modernization contract to Engility

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Navy has granted defense firm Engility a $30 million contract to improve systems engineering and capabilities for recovery equipment and aircraft launch at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Maryland.

“This win allows our subject matter experts to work alongside our customers to ensure mission readiness and deliver best practices in engineering, cyber, and software development,” Engility CEO Lynn Dugle said in a statement.

Engility boasts 20 years worth of work with NAVAIR for work on “mission-critical systems engineering capabilities.”

This project is meant to help the Navy modernize its launch, recover and visual landing capabilities. It will also conduct maintenance of aircraft aboard Navy ships and at Marine Corps airfields, according to the company.

Under the contract, Engility will also assist in design engineering, circuit board diagnostics and software testing.
