ROME — Italy’s Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi has signed to sell two C-27J tactical transport aircraft to an unnamed African nation, the firm company said.

The deal brings to 82 the number of C-27J aircraft sold, with 13 air forces signed up, Aleniathe firm said.
The company Alenia has already sold the aircraft to Chad and Morocco in Africa.

The latest deal includes a logistic package. The aircraft will be delivered from 2017 and will be used for troop transport, homeland security missions and civil protection, using semi-prepared landing strips.

The C-27J has now been ordered by the air forces of Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Morocco, the US, Mexico, Australia, Chad, Peru and Slovakia Republic.

Some 67 aircraft have been delivered to date.
