WASHINGTON — The French Ministry of Defence has selected Bertin Technologies to equip the largest shooting training center in Western Europe in 2018, according to a company announcement.

The France-based company will supply and install PeriSight and FusionSight systems in Canjers’ combined forces shooting training center, or CETIA, located in Var, France.

FusionSight is a night vision monocular and the first handheld device to fuse thermal and visible images, allowing for effective imagery day and night in all weather.

PeriSight is a 360-degree vision fixed system made up of camera blocks with low-light color and thermal sensors.

Each control tower at CETIA is equipped with six simple orientation modules and two side-by-side PeriSight modules. Master gunners will each have one FusionSight monocular.

"The tender was for fixed equipment on the control tower of the shooting ranges and for nomadic equipment for master gunners. The setup was to ensure observation and monitoring during training," said Damien Diaz, operations manager for Bertin’s Systems and Instrumentation business unit. "Our PeriSight and FusionSight products are perfectly suited to these scenarios because they help ensure the security of critical state sites and the protection of people and property, day and night, regardless of weather conditions."
