A little-known board has been working over the last year to identify resiliency measures and ensure the systems the Space Force buys meet those standards.
The launch is a first step toward modernizing the Space Force’s more than 60-year-old weather constellation, the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program.
“Enhancing the security of government, private sector and critical infrastructure systems grows ever more imperative,” said Air Force Gen. Timothy Haugh.
"We are in demand, more in demand than we’ve ever been, and that will continue to increase," Vice Adm. Kelly Aeschbach said at the Sea-Air-Space confab.
