Col. (P) William Jacobs

Col. (P) William Jacobs, deputy director for operations, Objective Force Task Force, has a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Jacksonville State University, a master’s degree in administrative education from Boston University, a master’s degree from the Command and General Staff College, and a master’s degree in national security and policy from the National Defense University. He has also attended the National War College. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in 1975.

His first active-duty assignments were with the military police. He later was designated a rotary wing aviator, serving as aviation operations officer with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany and as a company commander and plans officer with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), where he participated in Operation Urgent Fury — the liberation of Grenada. Following a series of command and staff jobs, his last two assignments were commander, 18th Aviation Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, N.C.; and chief of staff, 8th United States Army, Korea.
