ANKARA — Turkey’s state-controlled missile maker, Roketsan, has signed a business cooperation agreement with Sweden’s Saab Dynamics, company officials said.
One Roketsan official said the deal involves cooperation in short- to medium-range anti-tank missiles.
“Both companies believe that this could be a niche opportunity with a lot of synergy created,” one Roketsan official said.
Roketsan said in a written statement that a memorandum of understanding with Saab Dynamics has been signed.
“We see a great potential in a future cooperation with Roketsan in the anti-tank market and look forward to further exploring the possibilities together in this partnership,” Roketsan’s statement quoted Gorgen Johansson, Saab’s vice president and head of business area dynamics.
Roketsan’s board chairman, Eyup Kaptan, said the deal was part of his company’s efforts to maintain a more global presence in the market. ■
