The U.S. Army has posted a pre-solicitation notice for a contract to detect tunnel IEDs.
The pre-solicitation describes the project as a collaboration between the Army Research Laboratory and the Joint Improvised Explosive Devices Defeat Organization to develop "innovative solutions for surveillance and inspection of Improvised Explosive Devices emplacements and remote detection and identification of objects of interest, specifically IEDs and paraphernalia within and around culvert tunnels, tunneling events under roadways, and roadway craters."
The government intends to issue a multiple award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
