One of the Defense Department’s suppliers of big data analytics, Data Tactics Corp., has become part of L-3 Communications. L-3 acquired the company, which is based in McLean, Va., in a deal announced in early March.

Now called L-3 Data Tactics, the company employs about 200 people, most of whom hold security clearances.

L-3 believes the acquisition will enhance its National Security Solutions business, according to Michael T. Strianese, the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.
