An Urban Robotics GeoDragon mapping sensor has been flown on a T-20 small tactical UAV. The T-20, which is manufactured by Arcturus UAV, carried the sensor on a wing-mounted pod, according to an Arcturus news release.

"The GeoDragon system can create 3-D reconstructions in near-real time and output high-resolution digital elevation models, LIDAR-like datasets, and wide area maps, said Arcturus. The GeoDragon-equipped T-20 will be available by the middle of this year.

Arcturus describes the virtues of the T-20/GeoDragon package for ISR missions as low weight, small ground footprint for operations, a quiet 4-stroke UAV engine, and the ability to simultaneously carry other sensors such as electro-optical and infrared.
