The global C4ISR market will reach $93 billion by 2019, according to market research firm Marketsandmarkets. This reflects a compound annual growth rate of 2.28 percent.

The report estimates the current global C4ISR market at $83.1 billion. "The continued requirement for integrated solutions and interoperability will be the driving factors for the global C4ISR Market," said the report.

Airborne C4ISR systems will enjoy the highest growth rate, and will account for 40 percent of market share in the 2014-2019 period. The report foresees strong growth in the UAV market, as well as increasing demand for sensors, synthetic aperture radars, mobility solutions, biometrics, geo-spatial solutions, and cybersecurity.

Despite budget cuts in the U.S. and UK, the major players in the C4ISR market will be the U.S. and Europe, with markets emerging in Turkey, Indonesia, Australia and Brazil. "The current trend of the market is its transition towards faster and efficient systems," said the report. "The market requires more consolidation and integration of C4ISR systems across all platforms to gain competitive advantage."
