About 100 Searchers are flying along India's western, northern and eastern regions, according to the report. The Heron can operate at altitudes of up to 35,000 feet.

The Indian Army's Northern Command has "recently issued a global tender for procuring latest miniature unmanned aerial vehicles for gathering intelligence and carrying out reconnaissance of areas along line of control (LoC) with Pakistan and China-India border," the newspaper reported.
