SAIFE Technologies has been authorized to test its Mobility Suite communications software on the Navy Special Communications Requirements Division’s RDT&E network.

Mobility Suite provides secure voice, messaging, data and device management on commercial off-the-shelf devices, including smartphones and tablets.

“The anticipated resulting Authority to Operate (ATO) will enable use of the SAIFE Mobility Suite in a wide Navy deployment, making it the first software-only secure mobility solution for off-the-shelf devices approved for use on a Navy network,” said a SAIFE announcement.

Mobility Suite consists of SAIFE Mobile for secure voice and messaging, SAIFE Mobile Device Management for managing mobile devices, and SAIFE Connect for secure data-in-transit and protection against denial of service attacks. Mobility Suite also uses FIPS 140-2 validated NSA Suite B cryptography software.

“Our experience is that the U.S. Government needs complete device control and assurance that the managed devices only respond to authorized users,” said SAIFE CEO Darren Cummings. “We have spent the past several years developing a common framework with their policies and governance needs at the forefront, making it easy to adapt COTS into their environment.”
