The U.S. Army has awarded a $4.1 billion communications and transmissions contract to 12 contractors. The Program Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) awarded the fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, which received 24 bids.
The winning contractors were L-3 National Security Solutions, Globecomm Systems, Harris, General Dynamics One Source, DRS Technical Services, Booz Allen Hamilton, Serco Inc., Computer Sciences Corporation, Intelligent Decisions Inc., Lockheed Martin, AT&T Government Solutions and LGS Innovations. Specific funding for these contractors will be determined by task orders, according to the Army announcement.
PM DCATS, which is part of the Program Executive Enterprise Information Systems, is responsible for more than 100 communications projects, as well as programs such as Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems and Defense Wide Transmission Systems, according to the DCATS Web site.
