Enjoy skimming through DoD’s Early Bird news clips each morning? Well you’re going to have to find the news of the day for yourself until the government shutdown ends.

Pentagon websites, including the Early Bird, have slowly been going dark or scaling back posts as the shutdown enters it second day. National Defense University’s website is completely down this morning.

DoD’s homepage and many other Pentagon websites are sporting a red banner informing visitors “site updates are limited due to the government shutdown.”

About 400,000 of DoD’s civilian workers are being furloughed until Congress passes a 2014 budget. This includes folks who work in public affairs offices that post information and maintain these websites.
