The head of U.S. Cyber Command announced last week that headquarters for one of three forces is now established.

According to Defense Department reports, Army Gen. Keith B. Alexander said the Cyber National Mission Force is one of the forces that would react to a cyberattack against the U.S. The other forces include the Cyber Combat Mission Force, which is tasked with the operational control of individual combatant commanders, and the Cyber Protection Force, which helps operate and defend DoDís information environment, DoD reported.

Alexander went on to say training the militaryís cyber forces is a top priority and there is a multiyear effort underway with the services to train DoD forces.

So far, the Army, Navy and Marines Corps have trained about a third of the force this fiscal year, Alexander said. The rest will be trained throughout 2014 and 2015.
