PARIS — DCNS has signed a four-year service contract with the French Navy for the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, the naval systems company said Sept. 19.
“DCNS and the Navy, through the department for fleet support, have signed a contract for the maintenance in operational condition for four years of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier,” the statement said.
A DCNS spokesman declined to give the contract value.
The contract covers service support until May 2016, including three maintenance visits, and guarantees a high level of safety and security, the company said.
The maintenance deal is part of the Navy’s policy of outsourcing contracts, the company said.
