MELBOURNE, Fla./WASHINGTON — Retired U.S. Army Gen. Peter Chiarelli, Army vice chief of staff from 2008 until his retirement earlier this year, has been appointed to the Harris Corp. board of directors.
Chiarelli, 62, also served as senior military assistant to the secretary of defense; commander of the Multi-National Corps in Iraq; commander of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and in Iraq; U.S. Army chief operations, training and mobilization; and executive officer, Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
“With his vast U.S. and global military leadership experience, he will provide a unique perspective to many of our businesses,” said Thomas Dattilo, chairman of the Harris board of directors.
Chiarelli is currently chief executive officer of One Mind for Research, a nonprofit organization that brings together health care providers, researchers and academics to cure brain disorders.
